…to Rebecca Dean (Kozak Group) and Khaled Omari (Kerton Group) on their poster prizes at the Sustainable Chemistry Summit this past weekend.  The MUN Green Chemistry and Catalysis group won 2 of the 3 prizes available.

This meeting organized by GreenCentre Canada will be held for the 2nd time in 2013. We are already looking forward to it. It was a fantastic experience and a chance to meet not only other University researchers but those from industry, entrepeneurs, tech-transfer specialists, NGO and government reps, consultants….the list goes on. Thank you GreenCentre for organizing this.

Here is a video that was produced in the run-up to this meeting and it tells you a little bit about Green Chemistry:

The Equipment/Facilities page for the group has been updated (at last) – we still plan on making a little video for you over the summer 😀

Congratulations to Chris Kozak on the renewal of his NSERC Discovery Grant for 5 years. His students are investigating (i) Catalytic transformations using Fe catalysts and (ii) CO2 as a chemical feedstock. Well done Chris! Time to celebrate 🙂

Also, Chris and Justin attended the AIDW in Fredericton (organized by UNB)  – they had a fantastic time and learnt about a lot of exciting chemistry going on in the region.

Christina gave her 490B presentation and is nearing completion of her honours project. Good luck in your future career, Christina!
