As our DAAD Rise students will have returned to Germany by the time Canadian Thanksgiving arrives, we decided to have an early Thanksgiving celebration this year 🙂

Walter Leitner (Chair of the Green Chemistry Editorial Board) has written a piece in their blog

It is about a special online theme issue of the journal based on presentations at the 2012 Green Solvents conference organized by Dechema in Boppard, Germany last October.

Fran’s perspective is one of the articles included.

The chemistry graduate student organized a bonfire at Middle Cove beach last week to celebrate the beginning of a new academic year. More photos can be found on the chemistry dept. Facebook page.
